Mantena strengthens its project execution capabilities

3. December 2020

Good project work does not happen by itself. Mantena has taken this seriously.

In a large industrial company like Mantena, a wide range of small and large projects are carried out every single week. The various projects encompass everything from simple component repairs to extensive train rebuilds or strategic development projects that span several years. Regardless of the type or size of the project, one thing is certain: at Mantena, nothing is left to chance when it comes to project work.

Optimal project execution

For years, Mantena has worked to put the customer at the center and to carry out comprehensive projects. To ensure optimal project execution at all levels of the company, an internal improvement program for project work has now been launched, named Sirius.

The program is one of two strategic initiatives currently being run internally at Mantena to ensure the goal of becoming the Nordic region’s most customer-oriented and innovative total provider of maintenance services for rolling stock is achieved. The specific goal of Sirius is for all projects to be carried out as professionally and uniformly as possible across the entire company.

A clear goal

Marketing Director Silje Nilsen states that the implementation of the program is absolutely necessary for the company to be able to deliver the standard that customers expect.

– The ambition to become a leader in customer orientation and innovation is not a goal we hope to achieve; it is a goal we will achieve. The two strategic programs are important contributions to elevating the business to the level we aspire to. With the improvement program, all employees will receive an introduction to basic project management and a clear, shared understanding of how we are to execute projects. The program is intended to give all employees a clear picture of how projects are planned, developed, executed, and concluded at Mantena.
