The IBM Maximo software provides full oversight of Mantena's maintenance operations. The license has now been extended for another five years—providing even more opportunities.
For many years, Mantena has used the IT system IBM Maximo to ensure control and visibility over the company's operations. The system encompasses all of Mantena's maintenance work, including supporting processes such as inventory management, procurement, and invoicing, and helps to ensure that tasks are performed at the right time and by personnel with the appropriate expertise.
The system also exchanges information with operators, so that trains can remain on track.
IBM is the developer behind the system, while EY SKYE serves as Mantena's Maximo consultants, acting as IBM's business partners.
Exploring new opportunities
Mantena is now extending its Maximo license for another five years, while also entering into an even closer collaboration with IBM.
– A closer cooperation with IBM will provide us with the necessary understanding of the possibilities within Maximo, enabling us to make better decisions on future technology and development, says Ramnath Falch Ambathy, Director of Mantena Technology.
Monica Bjelland, system owner for Maximo in Mantena, emphasizes that the renewed Maximo license provides a long-term perspective on Mantena's improvement and development work.
– It is important for Mantena to improve the use of Maximo in existing processes, and to adopt new functionalities where it can support Mantena's strategy.
Contributing to smarter maintenance operations
Mantena is making significant investments in technology and digitalization going forward, which is essential for developing condition-based and predictive maintenance—and for offering advisory and technology services within maintenance development.
– Maximo can be an effective tool for achieving this. IBM will support us in leveraging Maximo to Mantena's best advantage, thereby strengthening our position as a maintenance provider, says Ambathy.
