Better workflow, increased efficiency, and enhanced productivity. These are key concepts for Mantena's internal “project school.”
In response to the new railway sector and the resulting changes in the competitive landscape, Mantena has chosen to invest significantly in competence development within the organization. One of several internal projects initiated in 2020 was the effort for unified and professional project management through the improvement program Sirius. The program describes how projects arise, are developed, planned, executed, and concluded within the company.
At Mantena, all customer deliveries and associated production are organized as projects. In a project-oriented company, it goes without saying that high quality in project execution is critical.
Eliminating ambiguities
By participating in the “project school,” all employees are introduced to basic project management. Aram Jajarmizadeh works as a Bid Manager and is one of the employees who has gained valuable insights into project work and project management.
– Through the project model that illustrates the life cycle of a project, we eliminate uncertainties regarding how things should be organized and what the roles should entail. This has given me a much clearer understanding of how we should work with projects at Mantena. It has also become easier to agree on common terminology and achieve better communication.
Long-term commitment
Commercial Director Silje Nilsen states that the initiative will continue throughout 2021.
– Our focus on professional project management is about creating consistently successful projects. This is a process that must be developed over time, but after just under a year with this initiative, we are well on our way to improving workflow, efficiency, and productivity. This will benefit both our organization and our customers.
