Three Swedish railway companies are owners of Itino trains. All have now become customers of Mantena at Grorud. – Mantena is attentive, flexible, and pleasant, says Transitio, who spread the word about their excellent work.
– Mantena has always been attentive and flexible. Everyone we interact with at Mantena is professional and pleasant to work with. It is simply easy to cooperate with them, says Henrik Unosson, who is responsible for the Itino trains at Transitio.
Become specialists in Itino
At present, there are three trainsets of the Itino Y31 type at Mantena in Grorud, with three different customers and owners: Transitio, Västtrafik, and Jönköpings Länstrafik.
– This means that all three owners of Itino trainsets in Sweden are now customers of Mantena, says a satisfied Pål Brækken, project manager at Mantena.
When he started at Mantena in April 2020, it was as project manager for heavy maintenance of Transitio’s Itino Y31 trainsets.
– This was new rolling stock for Mantena at the time, and it has been educational and exciting to secure this agreement and get the project up and running, he explains.
The agreement was renegotiated in 2022 and is now one of the larger contracts at Grorud.
Set an exemplary standard
At the turn of the year, two new agreements for Itino maintenance were signed, with Västtrafik and Jönköpings Länstrafik (JLT). JLT chose Mantena instead of exercising the option with their existing supplier in Sweden, after Transitio spoke highly of Mantena’s performance at Grorud.
– In short, we are satisfied with the work Mantena does for us. If we have had questions or needed adjustments resulting in extra work, Mantena has always handled this excellently. We also find that the arrangement at the workshop in Grorud works well, with dedicated tracks for the Itino trains, says Magnus Angantyr at Transitio.
Mantena’s work on Västtrafik’s Itino trainsets has also been used as a reference project for a larger contract that was recently awarded: the upgrade of Västtrafik’s Coradia X61 trainsets.
– In preparation for work on our Itino trainsets, Mantena has contributed in an exemplary manner, presenting solutions that have contributed to a positive result. They have demonstrated flexibility during the process – and if any deviations have occurred, Mantena has prioritized finding a solution in cooperation with us, says Nisse Eriksson, purchaser at Västtrafik.
